After a relaxing lunch at the hotel, we'll take a gentle orientation tour. Visit the iconic Shanti Stupa, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Leh town and the surrounding mountains – a perfect spot for peaceful reflection. Next, we head to the Hall of Fame, a museum dedicated to the Indian Army's heroes and showcasing Ladakhi culture and history. If time permits and you feel up to it, take a short stroll through the Leh local market. After breakfast, get ready to delve into Ladakh's rich cultural and spiritual heritage. We'll start our Leh sightseeing tour by visiting Sindhu Ghat for serene river views. Then, explore the historical Shey Palace, the former summer capital of Ladakh's kings. We'll make a fun stop at the famous "3 Idiots School" (Druk Padma Karpo School) before heading to the magnificent Thiksey Monastery, often called "Mini Potala" due to its resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa. Its stunning hilltop location and intricate artwork are captivating.

Today is a day of high adventure! After breakfast, we embark on the spectacular drive to Nubra Valley. The journey involves crossing the legendary Khardung La Pass (approx. 17,582 ft), one of the highest motorable passes in the world. The drive (approx. 5-6 hours, 120 km) offers constantly changing, dramatic landscapes. Stop at the pass to capture incredible photos (limit your time due to altitude) and soak in the awe-inspiring views of the Karakoram and Himalayan ranges.

As we descend into the enchanting Nubra Valley, you'll notice the landscape transform into a wider valley with the Shyok River flowing through it. Check into your hotel/camp in the Hunder area and have lunch. In the afternoon, visit the ancient Diskit Monastery, perched high above the valley, offering stunning views and housing a giant statue of Maitreya Buddha. The highlight for many is the unique double-humped Bactrian camel ride on the sand dunes of Hunder – an experience straight out of the Silk Road era! Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, we'll take a fascinating day trip to Turtuk, a beautiful village nestled close to the Line of Control (LOC). The scenic drive (approx. 3-4 hours each way, 90 km one way) follows the Shyok River through breathtaking landscapes.

Explore Turtuk's charming narrow lanes, traditional stone houses, apricot orchards, and interact with the friendly locals. Enjoy lunch at a local eatery, perhaps trying some authentic Balti cuisine (often included or payable directly). Visit the local monastery and perhaps a small museum showcasing the area's history. It's a step back in time and a truly enriching cultural experience. In the late afternoon, we drive back to our base in Hunder/Diskit. Enjoy dinner and relax after a day of exploration.

Prepare for another visually stunning journey! After breakfast, we leave Nubra Valley and head towards the magnificent Pangong Lake via the less-travelled but incredibly scenic Shayok River route. This drive (approx. 7-8 hours, 150-160 km) takes you through rugged terrains, alongside the turquoise Shayok River, offering raw, untouched beauty. Road conditions can be variable, adding to the sense of adventure.

As you approach Pangong Lake (approx. 14,270 ft), the first glimpse of its shimmering blue waters against the stark mountain backdrop is simply unforgettable. The lake famously changes colours throughout the day. Check into your pre-booked campsite or cottage near the lake. Freshen up, enjoy a warm cup of tea, and spend the evening simply absorbing the serene beauty. Take a walk along the shore, watch migratory birds (in season), and witness a magical sunset. Enjoy an early dinner under the starry sky.

Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over Pangong Lake – a truly magical experience. After breakfast, bid farewell to this natural wonder and begin our journey back to Leh. Today, we travel via the Chang La Pass (approx. 17,590 ft), another formidable high-altitude pass. Stop at the pass for photos and to appreciate the vast Himalayan panorama.

The descent towards Leh takes you through picturesque valleys and small villages. You might spot yaks grazing peacefully along the way. Upon reaching Leh by afternoon/evening, check back into your hotel. The rest of the evening is free for you to relax, revisit the Leh market for souvenir shopping, or try out a local restaurant for dinner (dinner at the hotel is included).

After a leisurely breakfast, we head out for some unique local experiences near Leh. Our first stop is the famous Magnetic Hill, where optical illusions make vehicles appear to roll uphill against gravity – a fun photo opportunity! We then drive towards the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers, known as Sangam. Witness the distinct colours of the two rivers merging – a beautiful sight.

On our way back towards Leh, we pay respects at the sacred Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. Maintained by the Indian Army, this serene Gurudwara holds deep significance and offers a peaceful atmosphere for reflection. After these visits, we return to Leh. Enjoy lunch (payable directly) and spend the afternoon at leisure. Perhaps revisit a favourite spot or simply relax. Enjoy your final dinner in Leh at the hotel.
